Nick Jurkowitz Quoted in Washington Post Article about NFL Healthcare Fraud
Nick Jurkowitz was recently quoted in Rick Maese’s Washington Post article “Why were feds investigating NFL players’ health-care fraud? Perhaps for the publicity.” In this article, Rick discusses the Justice Department’s motivations for investigating former NFL players’ fraudulent healthcare claims.
Nick offered his opinion on the matter.
“Perhaps with other people, they would have tried to resolve this quicker before filing charges,” Jurkowitz said. “But there’s something sensational about the names here, and I think that’s a big driving force. The Department of Justice has made clear that health-care fraud is a major issue for them, and this is an opportunity for them to get some notoriety and tell people they’re taking this seriously.”
